The world is still waiting for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s return to the U.K. and if their brawl with the royal family will finally come to an end. Despite the hopes, a royal expert believes there is no way the Sussexes will mend their relationship with the royals.
There are no words yet if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will join Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. If this happens, the Duke of Sussex will miss another major family event.
The Mirror noted that the royal commentator Kinsey Schofield claimed the royal couple has “no room to heal and build bridges” yet, as there are still a lot of animosities. It has been two years since they had their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, but there’s no sign of reconciliation until today.
By the looks of it, there’s no way they can improve their relationship with the royal family, as they are said to be still considered “outsiders.” Prince Harry even had a row with the Home Office over his security issues that resulted in his absence at Prince Philip’s memorial service in March.
In addition, it also remains to be seen if he will attend Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations this summer. But for Schofield, there’s a dire need “to make things better,” especially since Her Majesty is visibly aging.
However, he can’t deny the fact that there’s a lot of “pushback” from the Sussexes to make it happen. “I just feel like there’s so much animosity right now that they’re considered outsiders,” he said.
With the monarch’s health situation today, he assumed there’s not much time left. He wished Prince Harry would “heal the broken wounds” so that he and his wife could join the fold again in the future.
They may never return as working royals, but at least they can be royal family members again who can join others at every important event, like holidays and Christmas.
This news comes after Prince Harry was the only member of the royal family who didn’t make it to Prince Philip‘s Service of Thanksgiving. The duke himself confirmed his absence in a statement from his spokesperson, per Express.
Despite that, he said he wished to see his grandmother as soon as possible. For starters, the prince faces a legal battle against the Home Office over his police protection while he’s in the U.K.
Prince Harry believes that lacking police protection is a great personal risk for him and his family. Though they have a private security team for themselves, it can’t replicate the necessary police protection needed while they’re in Britain.
With that said, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their two kids, Archie and Lilibet, can’t return to their home country without that protection.
