On the red carpet of the 2023 BAFTAs, Kate Middleton and Prince William shared a fleeting moment of PDA.
In their first public outing as the Prince and Princess of Wales, the royal couple attended the 76th EE BAFTA Film Awards on Sunday at London’s Royal Festival Hall. In a white one-shoulder Alexander McQueen dress, Middleton looked stunning, and Prince William looked sharp in a black velvet suit.
A video of the couple’s entrance that Vogue magazine posted on Instagram looked to show Middleton giving her husband a fun tap on the rear as they were conversing and walking on the red carpet.
The message read: “Princess Kate gave Prince William a love tap as they arrived for the 2023 #BAFTAs, confirming that royals really are just like us—a ordinary husband and wife that occasionally likes to cop a feel.
Several royal admirers appeared to appreciate Middleton and Prince William’s subdued display of devotion at the wedding.
Is that what Kate did to William’s butt? Cheeky! Haha,” said one person. One more responded with the question “Did she just tap his behind in the end?” and an emoji of laughter.
Another person commented, “She tapped him like a nasty child.”
“Oh, of course you would. A fourth supporter said, “Prince William was bringing the fire tonight.
Some others hypothesised that the responses could have been different if the film had featured Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
[Woman shrugs emoji] “[I] felt this was improper conduct. Or was it only for Meghan and Harry?” On Instagram, one user wrote. As soon as I started watching, I had the impression that if Meghan had done this, she would have received all kinds of abuse and the news headlines would have been very different.
“I really, truly love this. I enjoy seeing it. Nevertheless, if this were Meghan giving Harry a “love tap,” the media and everyone else would be in a frenzy “Another comment asserted.
Some people on social media conjectured that Middleton attempted to seize her husband’s hand but was unsuccessful because William had only lifted his hand to wave at bystanders.
“I believe he raised his hand in response to her reaching for it. Any of you able to observe that? “One individual proposed.
Another commenter said, “She’s trying to grasp his hand, but he yanked away and greeted the press!”
