The BAFTA red carpet outfits worn by Kate Middleton on February 19, 2023, demonstrated her dedication to eco-friendly fashion.
The Prince and Princess of Wales attended the award presentation for the first time since 2020.
With some modifications, Kate wore an Alexander McQueen white Grecian-style gown with one shoulder that she had previously worn to the 2019 BAFTAs.
Her dress had floral appliqués at the shoulder in 2019, and Page Six reported that she accessorised it with a clutch adorned with crystals designed by Alexander McQueen, glittery Jimmy Choo pumps, a pair of Princess Diana’s diamond and pearl drop earrings, the Queen Mother’s diamond quadrifoil bracelet, and crystal-encrusted drop earrings from Princess Diana.
She updated the gown’s appearance by adding black velvet opera gloves, a matching black Jimmy Choo purse, gold Aquazzura shoes, and Zara’s Cascading Flower Earrings, which are gaining attention for their affordable pricing. They cost just £17.99, or about $28, at the outlet.
The BAFTA earrings on Kate Middleton symbolise her “penchant for sustainable fashion.”
Maxwell Stone, a jewellery expert at well-known jewellers Through Express.co.uk, Steven Stone offered his opinion on Kate’s choice of accessory.
The Prince of Wales was dressed in the Alexander McQueen one-shoulder gown that she shined in at the 2019 BAFTAs, he noted, “showcasing her penchant for sustainable fashion once again.” We were unable to look away from Kate’s striking earrings, a set of chandelier earrings from high-end retailer Zara.
Kate has worn many pieces of inexpensive jewellery in recent months, including a pair of £100 Sezane earrings that Prince William gave her on Christmas Day, despite having access to a variety of royal jewels, he continued.
It wouldn’t be out of the question if Kate focused more on less expensive items because she believes it is improper to wear expensive jewellery during a time of economic hardship.
