King Charles gifted the late Queen’s dresser Angela Kelly a ‘lifelong home’ to honour promise

The King has honoured a promise his late mother made to Angela Kelly that she would be granted property for life as a thank you for her decades of service to the crown.

King Charles has gifted the late Queen ‘s former dresser and close friend Angela Kelly a new home.

The King has honoured a promise his late mother made to Angela that she would be granted a property for life as a thank you for her decades of service to the crown.

Angela, 65, was recently photographed moving out of her Windsor cottage as she moves into lodgings provided by the King.

Taking to social media last week, the royal stylist revealed she was moving out of her Berkshire home with a Royal insider telling MailOnline her new house is in Guiseley, Yorkshire.

A source close to the palace said: “Angela wasn’t everybody’s cup of tea but nevertheless the King had no wish to see her homeless. I get the impression the King just didn’t want to be living next door to her.

“The narrative that the King is heartless has all been very wide of the mark. His Majesty has never wanted to see anybody homeless, particularly someone who has been so loyal.”

However, some friends close to the fiery stylist felt she had been treated badly by the royal family and become a victim of the King’s ‘property merry-go-round’.

Acknowledging her move on social media, Angela shared a photo of her garden and wrote: “Getting ready to say goodbye. I am moving at last to my new home which I will be able to call My Home at last.”

In response to a friend, she posted: “I’m moving to the Peak District just further on than Sheffield so not too far away from the family. My work phone has been disconnected but hopefully you have this one…Looking forward to my New Adventures.”

In a different Instagram story, she said: “I am too old to worry about who likes me and who dislikes me! I have more important things to do! If you love me – I love you! If you support me – I support you! If you hate me – I don’t care!”

She followed that with a gif of a child chanting: “I can’t do negative today. Positive vibes, positive vibes!”
