Queen Elizabeth have a tense meeting with Meghan Markle behind the scenes of your Platinum Jubilee celebrations? A tabloid claims that the queen took the opportunity to clear things up with the Duchess of Sussex. Let’s take a look at the rumour.
Queen ‘Laid down the law’ with Markle?
A recent edition of new ideas reports that Queen Elizabeth was not going to let Meghan Markle leave London again without putting her in her place. “The queen was magnanimous in rolling out the red carpet for the Sussexes despite her repeated attacks on the royal family,” says a source.
“But she did have some select comments for Meghan, especially about her upcoming Netflix docuseries, which, by all accounts, is more of a reality show.” The queen reportedly told Markle that she was explicitly prohibited from filming on Crown property and would “disapprove” of any mention of private family matters on her show.
“Her Majesty of her wanted to remind Meghan that the royal family was a team and that by hurting one of them, she hurts them all,” the insider concludes.
Queen banned Meghan Markle from filming?
Why is this report only concerned with Meghan Markle in the first place? Both Markle and Prince Harry signed their contract with Netflix, so why would the queen focus all of her efforts on talking to Markle? Well, our guess is that she wouldn’t.
It is much more likely that she, if she had concerns, would also include her grandson in the conversation, since it is well known that they have always been close.
But, of course, it’s no surprise that the magazine turned its ire on Markle. According to tabloid media, Markle was destined to sneak into the queen’s jubilee celebrations with a camera crew in tow.
And since neither Markle nor Harry interrupted the event, someone he had to have stopped them. But this narrative is pure wild speculation. There is absolutely no evidence to back this up and as far as we can tell, Meghan and Harry had no plans to film the queen during her visit to the UK.
More real trash from the tabloids
This is far from the first time we’ve arrested new ideas for spreading misleading information about the British royal family. Earlier this year, the outlet reported Meghan Markle had “denounced” Camilla Parker Bowles.
Then the magazine claimed Prince William tried to stop Prince Harry from seeing the queen during his stopover on the way to the Netherlands. And more recently, the publication alleged that the palace believed Mark planned to publicly disrespect Kate Middleton. Obviously, new ideas he really has no spies lurking in Buckingham Palace.
