The royal family is shaken by news Prince Harry will release a life memoir. Prince Charles and Prince William are nervous about what the Duke of Sussex may be about to reveal.
“The royal family is shaken up about the book,” a source told Us Weekly. The insider said Charles and William were “particularly concerned” about Harry’s revelations.
“They haven’t received a copy yet and don’t know what to expect. It’s making them nervous,” the source added.
Aside from being worried, a different source told The Mirror the yet-to-be-released memoir had already set off a “tsunami of fear” among the royals.
In addition, Buckingham Palace has released a statement over Harry’s new memoir. A representative told People Meghan Markle’s husband privately talked to the royal family “very recently” about the book’s publication.
The insider added Harry did not expect to get palace’s permission to do his new project. “Any clarification about the book would be a question for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” the palace said in a statement.
It then declined to give further comment about the issue, Yahoo News noted.
Penguin Random House announced Monday that Harry is now working on a memoir set for release in 2022. In a statement, the prince said he is writing the book not as a prince but as a man he has become.
Harry added that he had worn several hats over the years and now wanted to share the highs and lows of his life, his mistakes and the lessons he had learned.
“My hope is that in telling my story…I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think,” he said.
Harry added he is deeply grateful for the opportunity to write everything that he has learned in life. He, too, is excited for the public to read his life story accurately and truthfully.
Meanwhile, according to Fox Business, Harry will earn an advance of about $20 million for his work. His ghostwriter J. R. Moehringer, alternatively, will make around $1 million.
Penguin House Publishing has been known for securing lucrative deals for high-profile writers like Barack and Michelle Obama, who received a $65-million book deal.
The publishing company claimed Harry would donate the book’s proceeds to charity, though it remained to be seen what organization it would be. It is also yet to reveal if he would donate his advance or keep it.
