Google confirms Pixel 4a reveal coming on August 3

After several delays, Google has finally revealed the official date for the much anticipated mid-range smartphone, the Pixel 4a.

Google’s Pixel 4a was initially scheduled to launch almost two months ago. However, several delays are faced by the company.

Today, it appears the wait could finally be over with Google now all but confirming the launch of its next flagship phone for August 3. The giant company has verified this through a post in their online store but in the most complicated way possible.

Google Pixel 4a teaser

Google posted in their online store a very complicated image with the big text “August 3” in the middle. Rumors believe this is the company’s way to introduce its next-generation smartphone, the Pixel 4a officially.

Google also shared the big revelation through their different social media channels. The image also includes a tagline: “The Google Just What You’ve Been Waiting For Phone.” While the tagline doesn’t confirm the name of the device, it does, however, leave little to the imagination about what could eventually be launched on August 3.

When you take a more in-depth look, you will be more puzzled because of the ‘lorem ipsum’ paragraph included in the post. “Lorem ipsum” is a well-known describer of placeholder web pages – meaning, it is still in process, and content is still unavailable.

The ‘lorem ipsum’ text itself contains some fake Latin purportedly talking about cameras and a “longlastingis batterum,” which would be a surprise for the Pixel lineup, as reported by GSMArena.

What we know about Pixel 4a

According to previous leaks, Google’s Pixel 4a is expected to have a 5.8 inch OLED screen. It will have an 8MP punch-hole camera and a rear shutter with a 12.2 MP lens, which will support both Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS) and Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS).

A Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 processor could power the device instead of the latest Snapdragon 735 processor. It will be coupled with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.

Google’s next flagship is also assumed to rival Apple’s affordable phone, the iPhone SE 2. Despite a big market for mid-range smartphones, it is not yet clear whether the Pixel 4a will be sold in India or not.

Google’s Pixel 4 did not make it to India because of the Soli radar chip users the 60Ghz spectrum, which is not allowed commercially in India. However, with growing anti-China sentiment, the Pixel 4a can outsell its predecessor in India if launched.
