Sarah Ferguson announces exciting news two weeks after Princess Beatrice’s secret wedding

Sarah Ferguson, the former wife of Prince Andrew, Duke of York, released three new children’s books on Friday. The royal, who is already the author of over 25 books, officially launched the new stories on her Facebook and YouTube channels from her Windsor home, Royal Lodge.

The titles of the new children’s books are: The Enchanted Oak Tree, Genie Gems Meets Arthur Fantastic and Genie Gems Mission to Devon.

To mark the occasion, Sarah was given a cake in the shape of her character from The Enchanted Oak Tree.

The stories were released as part of a seven-book deal with Australian publisher Serenity Press.

The new collection was announced in February, which includes five picture books and two young chapter books.

Sarah, also known as Fergie, has written over 25 books, including Budgie the Little Helicopter and the Little Red series.

In April, the 60-year-old launched a YouTube channel ‘Storytime with Fergie and Friends’, to help keep children entertained during the height of the coronavirus lockdown.

The episodes were released daily at 4pm and the Duchess continues to upload episodes to the channel.

Several guests have also featured on the channel, with her eldest daughter Princess Beatrice appearing in June to read The Worrysaurus by Rachel Bright.

Earlier this month Sarah was busy with arrangements for Beatrice’s secret wedding to property tycoon Edoardo Mapello Mozzi.

The couple were due to wed in May but the ceremony was cancelled due to the pandemic.

But after lockdown restrictions were eased, Beatrice and Edo decided to hold a private ceremony with close relatives.

The couple had a small ceremony at the Royal Chapel of All Saints in Windsor, with the Queen and Prince Philip attending.

Beatrice’s guests included her parents Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, younger sister Princess Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank, as well as her grandparents – the Queen and Prince Philip.

Edo’s family, including Count Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi, flew in from France for the celebrations, and his sister Natalia attended with her two children.

His four-year-old son Wolfie was also there, acting as page boy and best man.

Beatrice wore a stunning vintage dress for the ceremony, which was loaned to her by the Queen.

The gown was a vintage Peau De Soie taffeta dress, in shades of ivory by Norman Hartnell, and trimmed with duchess satin and encrusted with diamante.

It was remodelled and fitted by the Queen’s senior dresser Angela Kelly and designer Stewart Parvin, according to Buckingham Palace.

Beatrice accessorised the dress with a diamond fringe tiara, which the monarch wore on her own wedding day in 1947.
