ZTE finally ended the race for the first under-display smartphone camera. The now launched ZTE Axon 20 5G is the first device to launch with the said technology.
The front-facing camera has seen a lot of development over the past few years. It started from bezels to notches to punch-hole display. But now, the ZTE Axon 20 5G is changing the game with an under the display camera.
Samsung and Xiaomi tried to be the first company with that technology. However, their previous prototypes had issues such as foggy images.
But ZTE did not achieve its success without overcoming challenges. According to the company, under-display technology is done through five core technologies.
A special display material allows light to pass through the screen. Meanwhile, the chip and circuit fix the color issues. The next step goes to the pixel matrix that allows for a more consistent display. ZTE also developed its own algorithm to provide clear photos.
