Princess Eugenie, 30, and her husband Jack Brooksbank are expecting their first baby. The royals have delighted fans by sharing their pregnancy news with an adorable post on Instagram featuring a tiny pair of baby booties. The couple’s sweet message read: “Jack and I are so excited for early 2021” and was followed by a baby emoji. The picture shared with the post showed Eugenie holding up an pair of teddybear baby shoes, along side a snap of the beaming mum and dad to be.
Eugenie and Jack’s pregnancy news was confirmed by the Royal Family on Friday.
A tweet by the Royal Family account said: “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in early 2021.
“The Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York, Mr and Mrs George Brooksbank, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh are delighted with the news.”
The royal baby will be the frist grandchild of Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, and Sarah Ferguson, and speculation over when the royal baby is due and what the couple will call him or her is already rife.
Ladbrokes say Arthur and Victoria are the early front runners to be the name Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank call their first born, while Betfair spokesperson Darren Hughes says Alice and Arthur lead the betting as 8/1 joint-favourites.
Jessica O’Reilly of Ladbrokes said: “Eugenie and Jack’s pregnancy announcement is the good news that royal fans have been desperate to hear all year.
“The early betting suggests they may opt for Arthur or Victoria, but we can’t rule out a slightly more left-field royal name.”
Eugenie and Jack have received an outpouring of happy wishes from excited fans since their sweet announcement, which has already received more than 10,000 likes on social media.
Commenting on their Instagram post, one fan put: “Congratulations – so happy and excited for you both.”
Another wrote: “Wonderful news.” And a third said: “Congratulations to the happy couple.. God bless your baby.”
Eugenie and Jack tied the knot at St George’s Chapel Windsor in October, 2018.
The couple have been subject to pregnancy speculation ever since and their followers will be delighted to hear of their happy news.
Suspicions were aroused last week after Eugenie’s beloved sister Princess Beatrice, 32, was spotted leaving a baby shop in West London.
This prompted speculation that Bea could have been sourcing a gift for her pregnant sister.
Earlier this week Eugenie and Beatrice were spotted arriving at private members club Annabel’s in West London where they were later joined by Jack Brooksbank.
Eugenie’s baby news comes just months after Princess Beatrice’s wedding – she tied the knot with Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in a private ceremony at All Saints Chapel, Windsor on July 17.
The two sisters are close, and Bea is sure to be delighted for her sister.
When is Eugenie due?
Princess Eugenie is understood to be due in February 2021, although her exact due date hasn’t been revealed.
In reaction to the happy news, source close to the family told the Sun: “This has been the tonic the whole family needed.
“Eugenie and Jack are delighted, and told Sarah and Andrew a couple of weeks ago.
“They were both utterly thrilled – it’s been a long time since the Yorks had some happy news, frankly.
“The news has also been welcome by the Queen, who is very close to Eugenie, and obviously has an extraordinarily strong sense of family.”
