The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are starting a new life in America after quitting royal duties earlier this year. But the majority of respondents in a new poll believe Meghan and Harry should have their royal titles taken away from them.
A huge 68 percent backed the move in the survey for Tatler.
And some 63 percent insisted US-born Meghan should not be commenting on American politics, while 35 percent agreed the former actress has set her sights on one day becoming president.
The poll of 4,174 British adults by Savanta Comres was conducted for the magazine last month.
It comes as Meghan and Harry are carving new careers outside of the Royal Family.
They sparked controversy this week by speaking out on the upcoming US presidential election and urging people to vote.
Their comments were widely seen as backing Donald Trump’s rival Joe Biden and prompted a strong reaction from the US President who admitted he was “not a fan” of Meghan’s and wished Harry luck, adding “he’s going to need it”.
Buckingham Palace was also forced to distance itself from Harry’s remarks amid the row.
The Queen’s grandson, who called on people in the US to “reject hate speech”, remains sixth in line to the throne despite standing down as a senior royal.
Members of the Royal Family traditionally do not vote or become involved in elections or political matters.
Meghan and Harry revealed sensational plans to step back as senior royals in January.
The announcement led to the Queen holding crisis talks with Prince Charles, Prince William and Harry to discuss the Sussexes’ future roles.
It was later confirmed they would quit as working members of the Royal Family and no longer be known as HRH.

Meghan and Harry have recently bought an £11 million mansion in California, where they are living with their one-year-old son Archie.
They have signed a lucrative deal with Netflix to produce shows for the streaming service as they pursue personal and financial freedom.
The arrangements for Meghan and Harry’s departure from the Royal Family – dubbed Megxit – are due to be reviewed after a year.
But demands have been growing for the couple to be stripped of their royal titles.
Earlier this month, Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan called for the Sussexes to give up their “commercially beneficial” royal titles.
He tweeted: “Great news that Harry & Meghan have repaid the Frogmore Cottage costs out of their Netflix millions & will also no longer be taking Charles’s cash.
“Now, if they just give up their very commercially beneficial royal Duke & Duchess titles, they can do & say whatever they like…”
