Princess Beatrice speaks out for the first time on secret royal wedding

Beatrice married millionaire property tycoon Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in July. And in a new video the royal finally spoke out about her big day.

Beatrice announced the winners of Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice’s Kids Summer Art Competition 2020.

A clip was shared on the charity’s Twitter page on Friday.

In the video, Beatrice congratulates one of the winners who drew a picture of a wedding.

The royal added: “I had the chance to get married this summer and it was so much fun.”

Beatrice wed Mr Mapelli Mozzi on July 17 at the Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge in Windsor.

The couple had planned to marry on May 29 in the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace.

But they were forced to postpone their big day due to the coronavirus crisis.

In an unusual move, their nuptials were not announced in advance, the ceremony was held in private and pictures of the event were not immediately released.

In a statement, Buckingham Palace said: “The couple decided to hold a small private ceremony with their parents and siblings following the postponement of their wedding in May.

“Working within Government guidelines, the service was in keeping with the unique circumstances while enabling them to celebrate their wedding with their closest family.”

The Queen and Prince Philip were among guests at the low-key wedding.

The Duke of York, who stepped back from royal duties after his disastrous Newsnight interview about his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, walked his daughter down the aisle.

A series of pictures from the royal wedding were released by Buckingham Palace.

Beatrice and Mr Mapelli Mozzi, known as Edo, announced their engagement in September 2019 following a whirlwind romance.

The property tycoon proposed to Beatrice during a trip to Italy.

Their families have known one another for years and they began dating in autumn 2018 after meeting again at Princess Eugenie’s royal wedding.

Earlier this week, Beatrice was reunited with her stunning wedding dress for the first time ahead of the beautiful gown going on public display at Windsor Castle.

Beatrice’s younger sister Eugenie yesterday announced she is expecting her first child with her husband Jack Brooksbank.
