Dr. Anthony Fauci, a member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force, has seen his prediction come true, with COVID cases rising across the country this Fall. During an interview yesterday with the Project On Government Oversight, he issued a new warning for the season. Dr. Fauci Worries Infections Will Rise This Fall and Winter
“Things that we’ve been talking about pretty consistently over the last couple of weeks, you know, we’re entering into the fall, and then ultimately winter season where a lot of the things that we normally would have done out outdoors are now by necessity, going to be indoors were closing in, you know—Halloween is coming and then Thanksgiving soon thereafter. The thing that is very troublesome to me is that the baseline number of infections that we have is about 40 to 45,000 per day. That is an unacceptably high level, which means that there’s a considerable amount of community spread of infection. So when you’re going into a season that respiratory illnesses are more problematic, you’d like to go in at a very low baseline, but we’ve not succeeded in doing that.”
Dr. Fauci Sees Cases Rising Across the Country Already
“Now when you look at the map, you know, with the green zones and the yellow, orange and red zones, we’re starting to see upticks in infection in the Midwest, the Northwest and other, even now, even a little bit the places that have done really, really well, which is New York following being hit very hard. They’ve had some issues now of trying to gradually open up. So we’ve got to do something about that. We’ve got to make a consistent message.”
Dr. Fauci Begs You Follow the Fundamentals
“We’ve got to make sure that it isn’t, some are doing it one way and others are doing another. There are five or so general principles—universal wearing a mask, keeping a distance, avoiding crowds, doing things out there more than indoors, washing your hands. They sound very simplistic. Like my goodness knows it’s such simple things, and yet there is not consistent utilization of those. So that’s on my mind. Now we’ve got to get that community spread down, even though there are parts of the country that are doing very well. So I don’t want people to get the idea that every single region, state, city and county is doing poorly, but there’s enough viral activity out there to be concerning to us.”
Dr. Fauci Said This Outbreak Will Hopefully Inspire a Commitment to Overcome Social Determinants of Health
“The 210,000 deaths in the United States that we’ve experienced thus far, those comorbidities are much, much more prevalent in Brown and black people. And that is diabetes, hypertension, obesity, heart disease, chronic lung disease and kidney disease. And that’s not a racial, genetic issue. It’s a social determinants of health issue. If anything comes out of this outbreak, maybe it should jolt us into finally saying, we’re going to have a multi-decade commitment to overcome those social determinants of health. So that’s the thing that stands out in me.”

Dr. Fauci Said Telling the Truth is Crucial for Public Health
“It’s absolutely essential because if you’re going to make scientific-based public health recommendations, everything has got to be transparent. Otherwise once you lose the confidence of people, they don’t believe what you’re saying or they believe you’re holding things back or they believe there’s a political motivation to things,” Fauci said. “And we’ve got to admit it, those of us in government, all of us, you and I and all of the people that work for me, and all the people that work for you, that there is a building distrust now in the transparency of what we do,” he added. “It’s the elephant in the room.”
Dr. Fauci You May Not Like What He Has to Say, But He’s Gonna Keep Saying It
“And if in fact somebody does want to shoot the messenger and say, ‘I don’t like what they’re saying. I don’t want to talk to them anymore.’ So be it, at least you’ve maintained your integrity. But if you keep talking about things, even though they don’t make people happy after a while people start respecting you. And they know that you’re going to tell them the truth, and you’re not the messenger that gets shot. So even up to today, 36 years later, when I walk in and I tell someone something, they may not like to hear it, but I’m not going to tell people things that they want to hear. I’m going to tell them things that are based on evidence and facts. And I think that is something that is inherent to what my job is.” As for yourself, follow Fauci’s fundamentals, and to get through this pandemic at your healthiest, don’t miss these 35 Places You’re Most Likely to Catch COVID.
