Strictly Come Dancing star Caroline Quentin, 60, has revealed her gruelling training regime with Johannes Radebe has brought out his dark side.
The giggly pair appeared on The One Show as host Gethin Jones had joked that he wished he could turn co host Alex Jones’ microphone off.
Pointing at Johannes, Caroline laughed: “Johannes found that funny because he’d love to silence me!”
Gethin replied: “He’s the nicest man in the world he’d never say such a thing!”
Caroline said: “You really don’t know him as well as you think you do, he appears to be very nice but there’s some stuff in here that I’ve revealed and it’s not pleasant.”
Asked how training was going, Caroline said: “God, I am so tired I can barely string a sentence together. “
Johannes said: “Dancing is hard! It is amazing to see what she is willing to put up with every single day.
“We have early mornings and late evenings, lots of breaks but she gives it her all that’s unbelievable.”
Caroline told him: “Sometimes you don’t want it all, sometimes you wish I’d give slightly less!”
Johannes said he was delighted that the first routine would include lifts, and said the routine accommodated all her “aches and pains”, adding that he thought Caroline was an inspiration.
Caroline revealed she had received some advice from Liz Hurley, who she is currently shooting a film with.
“She revealed herself to be the biggest star of Strictly Come Dancing you have ever met!
“They are watching and they are keen for me to do well,” she said of Liz and her son Damien.
During the interview, the hosts played a video message from Caroline’s old friend and co star Debbie McGee.
Debbie wished Caroline luck in the sweet video filmed from her living room – but she had a bizarre ornament in the background.
Viewers were quick to point out she had what looked like her late husband, magician Paul Daniels’ head in a jar on a shelf behind her.
