Queen’s pride: Captain Tom Moore reveals what Her Majesty wrote in 100th birthday card

The Queen has sent Captain Tom a message to congratulate on his milestone birthday and outstanding fundraiser. The private message was disclosed by Captain Tom himself, who proudly posed with the telegram in his hands.

In her letter, the monarch wrote: “I am so pleased to know that you are celebrating your one hundredth birthday on 30th April, 2020.

“I was also most interested to hear of your recent fundraising efforts for NHS Charities Together at this difficult time.

“I send my congratulations and best wishes to you on such a special occasion. – Elizabeth R”

The birthday wishes came in a special card portraying the Queen on its front.

Buckingham Palace said earlier today the personal message had been delivered to Captain Tom’s home by HM Lord-Lieutenant of Bedfordshire, the monarch’s representative in the county where the veteran lives with his daughter Hannah.

Publicly wishing Captain Tom’s a happy birthday, Buckingham Palace tweeted: “This morning @LLieutenantBeds , The Queen’s personal representative in Bedfordshire, delivered a birthday card to @captaintommoore from Her Majesty.

“Today we join people across the UK and around the world in wishing Captain Tom Moore a very happy 100th birthday”.
